DRY

I know, I know. I just turned the time machine upside down.

I was supposed to show the video last.

But in this case I think I had to set the tone.

Why?

Because of this rag and the 75 plus articles that is has published on the merits of prohibition.

At least the following magazine simply made a story out of "dry towns."

So when people ask for prohibition just send them to the entry at the top of this page.

It proves my point; but nobody in this era can see into the future.

Oh well.

Us guys from the Scranton rail yard still have O'Brien's Bar to go to after work.

And sometimes Bogdan takes us to his house for a shot or two of sliboveich.

That's what McFee, Gunther and I call it.

Bogdan calls it slivovitz, slivovitsa,  slivovice, sliwowitz, šljivovica, šljivovica, sligovica, śliwowica, şliboviţă, slivovica, slivovkaשליוואָוויץ, or слив'янка; depending upon who is visiting his home.

It is a delicious whiskey made from plums.

It is embarrassing for us because we only know one language. We should take lessons from Bogdan.

So we will have our sources, O'Brien's and Bogdan's grape arbor, even when that ignorant senator passes his ignorant bill due to pressure from the do-gooders.

When Bogdan's friends come we sing along with them.

Of course the song and conversation reminds us of all the pretty girls walking around Scranton; and a few of us remember a special one back home.

And now Bogdan has taught us this song and we learn a little Russian at the same time.

Little cranberry, cranberry, cranberry of mine!
In the garden of strawberries, little raspberry, raspberry of mine!

Ah, under the pine, the green one,
Lay me down to sleep,
Oh-swing, sway, Oh-swing, sway,
Lay me down to sleep.

Little cranberry, cranberry, cranberry of mine!
In the garden of strawberries, little raspberry, raspberry of mine!

Ah, little pine, little green one,
Don't rustle above me,
Oh-swing, sway, Oh-swing, sway,
Don't rustle above me.

Little cranberry, cranberry, cranberry of mine!
In the garden of strawberries, little raspberry, raspberry of mine!

Ah, you beauty, pretty maiden,
Fall in love with me,
Oh-swing, sway, Oh-swing, sway,
Fall in love with me.

Little cranberry, cranberry, cranberry of mine!
In the garden of strawberries, little raspberry, raspberry of mine!
